We arrived in Stowe last night, and have a cute little townhouse at
Topnotch resort. We ate at Norma’s last night, where Paul works, and
they gave us the star treatment, which was especially nice given the
fact that 45 Boston Bruins dropped in to the hotel unexpectedly.
I had a salad with hazelnuts, grapes, lettuce and bleu cheese. Then
they served us all a special small plate of wide fettuccini with a
saffron cream sauce made with vanilla, carrots, parsnips, and other
spices, probably the highlight of the dinner.
That was followed by a delicious rack of lamb with mango couscous and
roadtes vegetables. That should have been enough, but they then
brought over a dish of sorbet and strawberries, and then they brought
an apple pie dish and a carrot cake dish.
Then we rolled ourselves back to the townhouse and promptly fell asleep.
