Just wanted to pass along our recent experience with Cavalier phone service. We haven’t had phone service for more than 2 weeks (apologies to anyone who has tried to call us).

The week before Thanksgiving, our line was switched with another family that lived just on the other side of the beltway. We would receive all of that family’s calls, and any calls we made were attached to her number. She had no phone service whatsoever. We each called in the problem several times, spending over 20 minutes on hold each time and being forced to speak to at least 3 technicians and explain the problem each time. Neither of us received any kind of response from Cavalier.

Three days ago, our line went completely dead. No dial tone, no incoming calls. We presumed it was temporary while they straightened out our service. No such luck. Another call to Cavalier today (20 minutes on hold again, 3 more technicians to explain the problem too) and still no resolution. We haven’t even received a simple apology.

Needless to say, we will be cancelling our phone service. It’s a shame - they are a small local company that used to have excellent support, and we’ve been customers of theirs for the past 2 years with no incidents. That’s why we tried to stick it out with them. Their repeated indifference to our situation is mind-boggling, and I hope that noone else gets caught in a similar situation. Stay away from this company.
